1997: INTEREX WAS BORN
Interex started life in a converted chicken shed in Berkshire in July 1997. With a floor that flooded every time it rained and a lack of warehouse racking, life was quite challenging. A large pothole outside the warehouse door meant that if the forklift driver did not navigate it successfully, much time would be lost digging it out! Good fortune struck when road builders were persuaded to tarmac the area in exchange for storing their JCB in our yard.
1998: FROM LITTLE ACORNS...
Business slowly began to build and with the help of family and friends, the packing was done in the evening, often until 2am. It soon became obvious that a more salubrious premises was required, however being located in one of the most expensive areas of the country meant that finding a more suitable building was near impossible.
2000: RELOCATION
After much searching, in October 2000, the entire company (including our forklift) was packed in to the back of a van and moved to a brand new building on the Lion Barn Industrial Estate in Needham Market. Three people relocated with us to Suffolk which has since proved to be the ideal place for our company to grow and flourish.
2007: BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS
In December 2007 we moved to Interex House which has given us room for increased growth and expansion. We employ 15 people (as well as Luca the dog, who is part-time). Through ongoing hard work, coupled with huge amounts of overseas travel, our business continues to grow and face fascinating new challenges every single day. Dealing with so many cultures and countries means that life at Interex is never boring!
